Wedding Pictures

We finally have some wedding photos online. These were taken by John's sister Charlotte. More should follow... Watch this space!

House!

We've found a house! Obviously it's getting quite close to the wedding day now, and we were getting a bit worried about needing somewhere to live. But now we've found a really nice place to rent - not too far away from the area we both live in. It's just off the Botley Road, in Duke Street - for those that know Oxford (I'll post the address as soon as we confirm everything with the agents).

It's a three bedroom house, with an open plan ground floor. The floor downstairs is polished floorboards, and it has a coal fire in the living room area. The garden backs onto the river, and the kitchen has a dishwasher (hooray!).

Lights, and Psychological Profiles (not quite...)

Sally's brother came down on Saturday, and we looked over the wedding venue, discussing the setup for the day, and some interesting ideas with regards to lighting. We also got him sized up for the uniform of the wedding day.

We met with our personal pastors on Sunday, to go over the results of a questionnaire we both did. It was meant to highlight areas of our life together that we haven't discussed yet - but I'm pleased to say we came out of it quite well. It did point out that we hadn't talked about how we were going to raise our children together - but I don't think we were too concerned about that.

New Gifts

We have just posted a load of new gift ideas on the gift list page. They are all from fair trade catalogues, and there are some more expensive items - for those of you that have been asking us about this.

There are still plenty of (cheaper) things left on the Debenhams gift list, as well.

Half Term

It's half term for Sally, so she's been at home with her parents in Dorset, sorting out things like her dress, which her mum is making. Apparently the bridesmaid's dresses are also coming along quite well, with Sally making the small one, and Paula, John's step mum, making the adult sized one.

New job for Sally

Good News! Sally had a interview for a teaching job for after the wedding today. It went well, infact the head of the school rang 45 minutes after the interview to offer her the job. She will be teaching Year 1 and Reception at Botley Primary School.

Rings, and Meeting the Pastor

Well, finally Sally's engagement ring has turned up, having come all the way across the ocean from Sri Lanka - after 5 months of waiting. For those of you who don't know the story, we ordered all our rings from a fair trade jewellery retailer, CRED. Normally, they only produce silver jewelery, but we managed to get them to make us some gold rings.

We've also just finished a meeting with Steve Jones, the pastor from our church who is taking our wedding. He's encouraged us to start thinking about vows, and we've booked a date for the wedding run-through.

2 Months to go

It's now two months until the big day.

The girls in Sally's class got very excited today and made her many 'wedding' necklaces out of brown wool and shiny paper!

(Sally teaches four and five year olds.)

Gift List

We've just been in to Debenhams on Saturday, and played with their little zappy gadget. You can wander around the shop, and scan the bar codes of everything you want! Anyhow, the result is that we now have a gift list with them.

We'll be posting other links to gift ideas on the gift list page as soon as we get around to it.

9 Weeks

It's now 9 weeks until we get married! Time seems to be going so fast, and yet it seems like the day will never come.
